Forbidden Empire is based on the famous novella "Viy" by Nikolai Gogol. Set in the early 18th century, the story follows Jonathan Green, an English cartographer who embarks on a scientific voyage across Eastern Europe. After getting lost in the dense, fog-covered forests of Ukraine, he stumbles upon a secluded village that lives in absolute terror of ancient, demonic forces.
